so another gruelling day in Florida. A sleep in, then a good breakfast. Gotta start right if you want to golf! played a local 9 hole, they were working on the greens and it was tight. You've gotto lose the first sleeve some where! (nah, only 2). Saw the critters in the pictures as we wandered the course. Lots of signs saying watch for gators and snakes, a little excitements just adds to the difficulty of the course. We'll look for some other challeges tommorow!

Another year another adventure

 Happy New Year,  We have been busy since returning from Europe.   In August we celebrated our extra daughter’s wedding, cheers Christine and Blake.   Then off to Victoria for Wyatt’s (Great Nephew) 4th birthday In October we bought our new home, a bungalow in High River.   We were happy to unload the container and put down some roots.  We hosted Christmas Eve and had 12 family and friends come, great time had by all.  Today we are off on Trent’s 70 birthday trip to Japan!

Key West

 There is a lot to see at the southern most tip of North America. Christmas is big here, lots of decorations using pine bow garland but I haven’t seen any pine trees so it must just be tradition. Lots of churches too, quite a few have been repurposed though, like the one above. We did make a little faux pas at the Southernmost Point. We walked up, waited till the people there took their picture then we took our shot and left. It was only then that we noticed the line up down the street waiting to take pictures. OOPS! Happened to watch a funeral as well. All the streets blocked off to the church and police everywhere. It was the wife of some newly elected politician so lots of pomp and security. It was reminiscent of a New Orleans funeral only fewer bands.  Last day in the Keys then onto the boat tomorrow!

Moving Day(s) Hiroshima

 Our last night in Niseko calls for dinner out. Ying and Juan are also leaving. Ying is from China and Juan is from Argentina. They are going to their house in Tokyo.  We meet this couple early on in our stay and have become friends. They come to Niseko every year to snowboard so they know it well. They have a season pass to Annapuri. They have an interesting story. They both work remotely, he is in AI development and she is a manager with a French tech firm in Tokyo.  Dinner was wonderful. Not really Japanese as we ate at a Canadian/British pub style place. Good food and four bottles of wine later we waddle home. Ying and Juan have never been to Canada so maybe in a future season they will visit. They seem pretty eager to ski the Rockies. We are out of Niseko bound for Hiroshima.
