Wine Tasting Mendoza Take 1
We strolled around the Mendoza (pop 2 mill) downtown. Seen some performers on the street, walked through plaza international and had lunch at a cafe.
We land3d in Mendoza at the start of their wine fest so went to the Dionisian Wine Fair, located at a Museo Gardens on the edge of town, in the evening. There was approx 50+ wineries represented and we were able to sample wineries from all over Mendoza area including the Uko valley, which has very rocky soil. Met some English speaking people from a hostel and had a good time eating great food and amazing music. Luckily we had found Francisco an English speaking uber driver who is now driving us here and there.

On Sunday we went to Bodego Roberto Bonfanti for a tour and tasting. Angelo was an excellent guide and explained about flood irrigation, the area has a main “irrigation canal” and properties are allowed to open its gates about every 2 weeks to drain the water into there canals for 2 days. They distribute the water by directing it in the “ditch” to the area they want water, simple and efficient.
After the tour we ended up getting a last minute table in the restaurant and had an amazing 6 course wine paired meal, best of the trip
